Diamonds can have subtle differences in color, to obvious differences. Extremely rare stones are completely clear and have no color, the most common tint/hue diamonds share is a mild yellowing of the stone. At a grade of K or lower the yellow can be noticeable. Some of the diamond color is so subtle that the best way to determine where it lies on the color scale is through comparison to another diamond. From time to time, diamonds of vibrant color become fashionable, these are referred to as “Fancy color diamonds”, such as a bright yellow (also known as Canary Diamonds).
